Summary
In this hands-on role, the Accounting Manager is responsible for managing the general ledger, creating financial reports and analysis, and managing site-specific financial functions for Mack Technologies Florida, Inc. This position reports to the Director of Accounting located in Westford, MA with dotted-line responsibility to the General Manager in Melbourne, FL. This position is 100% on-site in the Melbourne, FL facility.
In this hands-on role, the Accounting Manager is responsible for managing the general ledger, creating financial reports and analysis, and managing site-specific financial functions for Mack Technologies Florida, Inc. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain accuracy of the General Ledger and subsidiary ledgers in accordance with GAAP.
- Prepare and post all Journal entries.
- Plan, organize and perform the monthly, quarterly and annual financial close and coordinate preparation of financial statements with Director.
- Perform monthly balance sheet account reconciliations and review with Director.
- Review income statement and prepare variance analysis to budget/forecast as necessary.
- Coordinate with GM and HRM to prepare labor forecast.
- Assist in control of expenditures.
- Code expenses and expense reports.
- Review and update standard costs in the ERP system.
- Lead the finance function in the year-end physical inventory.
- Provide backup for other financial functions including Payroll, Accounts Receivable cash posting and application, and Accounts Payable.
- Perform internal audits as necessary.
- Supervise accounting personnel. Monitor performance and provides prompt and objective coaching and counseling.
- Adhere to and implement all corporate financial policies, procedures and guidelines.
- Improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions.
- Prepare reports to assist other departments with understanding and properly using financial data.
- Generate ideas for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
- Understand and follow all applicable ISO and job specific procedures.
- Participate in quality and management/company meetings as required.
- Manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting. CPA preferred.
- Minimum 5+ years’ experience in a mid- to high-level manufacturing environment; including 2-3 years’ experience with the Accounting close process.
- 1-2 years of supervisory or management experience.
- Must possess strong communication, organizational, technology and leadership skills.
- Advanced Excel skills and proficient with the use of ERP systems (Syteline experience a plus).
- Ability to work independently in a fast paced, high tech manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of cost accounting, financial analysis and GAAP.
- Knowledge of payroll functions (ADP experience a plus).
- Possess strong work ethic, dedication, and conducts themselves with the highest level of integrity.
- Ability to work with and maintain highly confidential information.
- Ability to interface with customers and suppliers.
- Willingness to work flexible hours as necessary.
- US Person as defined in 22 CRF Part 120.15 (U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, refugees and those given asylum in the United States, and temporary residents granted amnesty) since work includes ITAR controlled technical data.
