History of Mack Technologies
Inception and Growth Strategy
Mack Technologies was formed in August 1993 through Sun Microsystems’ divestiture of its east coast manufacturing operation. Mack Molding—at the time a significant supplier to the Sun Microsystems facility—acquired the manufacturing operation. By reinvesting the company’s earnings over time, the Mack Technologies’ management team deliberately expanded and diversified the business.
Expanding to Printed Circuit Board Assembly and New Industries
Initially focused on box build and system integration, Mack Technologies added printed circuit board assembly (PCBA) capabilities in 1995. Nearly twenty five years ago, Mack diversified into new markets, investing significantly in its facilities and capabilities. Today, our heightened technical capabilities continue to support computing and communications customers while also serving the medical device, defense and aerospace, energy, and industrial sectors.
Solutions for Complex Products
Establishing a Global Presence
Mack Technologies remains strategically focused on quality manufacturing solutions for highly reliable and complex products—programs best suited for North American operations. In contrast to many contract manufacturers who reduced their North American footprints and shifted resources to Asia and Eastern Europe, we increased our North American footprint in 2002 by acquiring manufacturing facilities in Florida and Mexico.
Looking to the Future
Mack Technologies will continue to be a customer-focused organization committed to investing in new technologies, capital equipment, and people in order to maintain our position as a leading electronic manufacturing services provider.
