Focus on Achieving Vision of Excellence Throughout Entire Supply Chain
MELBOURNE, FL, June 2, 2014: Mack Technologies, Inc. hosted its fifth annual Supplier Conference in Melbourne, Florida late last month. “The conference has really evolved over the years” said Bill McKenna, Mack Technologies’ Director of Supply Chain. “It started with the idea of bringing our suppliers, distributors, and customers together annually, but it’s become more than a forum for discussion. It’s become an anticipated event and a tool for keeping our businesses aligned.”
This year’s theme, Vision of Excellence, focused on how as a team we can achieve that vision. Speakers included Walter Tobin, Corporate Vice President at Future Electronics who discussed “Effective Communications” and how it relates to effective listening. Gary Shanahan, Area Director of Business Development East for Digi-Key, spoke about “Supporting the Customer” and its relationship to effective communications – all of which leads to achieving the vision of excellence. Other speakers included, Will Kendall, President of Mack Technologies, who provided a business update for the team.
Later in the afternoon attendees divided into groups to participate in interactive exercises focused on communication and strategy. “This year’s conference theme is relevant to us as a company and an industry. Everything we do relies on our ability to communicate both internally at Mack and externally with our suppliers and customers,” said Susan Badgio, Plant Manager of Mack’s Florida operations. “The conference was a welcome platform to discuss how we can continuously improve and strengthen our entire supply chain, from component manufacturers to our end customers, through communication.”
During the day’s events many participants chose to join Mack in making donations to a local charity — Daily Bread Soup Kitchen Daily Bread serves meals to over 85,000 people in the Melbourne community each year. The day’s events culminated in the presentation of a check to Daily Bread for $2,541 plus a donation of more than a ton of food. ”It’s a wonderful thing the way you help feed Brevard,” said Rich Freedman from TTI, “It’s a legacy that will be remembered.”
